It really annoys me when you are tired after a long day and are relaxing on a friday night with your family when the phone rings. Who is it ? A family member like your mother or father. No it is an overseas call centre calling to flog the latest something or other. When you politely tell them you are busy and are not interest in talking to them at that time they insist you stay on the line. You warn them again you will hang up and try even harder to keep you on the line. You are then forced to hang up on them....It really shits me
I've moved house recently and even though I got a silent line I still started getting many call from call centres and other bloody overseas promotion people, it shits me for sure. I ended up requesting that my number be put on the don't call list, which seems to work for Australian based callers but not sure if it will work for calls initiated overseas, hopefully so if they are on behalf of Australian businesses. The ones that shat me the most were from a robot and I finally realised that it did nothing unless I spoke to it. If I just picked up the phone and said nothing it would end up hanging up on me, but if I said "hello" or anything else, you could make any noise, it then connects you to a person. The person would ask for someone that maybe lived here before or had the number I have before, to their credit, once I asked them to stop calling they haven't called again. Never-the-less, they shit me!
