Graffiti
Let me say up front that I get it, most of you Graffiti artists respect private property and only tag or decorate public areas, such as alongside railway lines or the side of commercial properties, down alley ways and the like. Some of your work is magnificent too, intricate and detailed, truly artistic. There’s even that guy from the UK who makes a very nice living from his graffiti art, can’t think of his name, I’ll pop it in later if it comes to me.
What shits me though are the idiots that tag the fence of someone’s home, maybe the front of a small business, like a dental office, or the sign of a business, or a street sign. Trains get a bashing, inside and out. I’ve seen a tag on a school, even a church. Even worse you get dick-heads that do something like this picture below on someone’s front fence, not an incomprehensible tag but an obvious image. I guess a self portrait by the tagger in this instance.

Then you have some like these below, they’re really good. Really good! Great colours, great designs and not at all offensive and I think it brightens the area either side of the train tracks. Better to look at than boring old fences as you ride the train or walk the path.

Then you’ve got some of this fabulous work, it’s in Hosier Lane in Melbourne Australia and it’s sought out by photographers from all over the world and visited daily by tourists and locals alike.

So, to the idiots and dick-heads mentioned above, don’t shit me and so many other people by putting your tags on people’s homes, on signs or on the front of buildings. It’s really disrespectful and I know you wouldn’t like it if someone tagged your bike, car, house, face. Learn how to do the really cool graffiti, impress people with your talent and who knows, you might even find yourself making some really good money!
Oh, and Banksy is the name of the guy in the UK who’s famous for his graffiti work, check his Wikipedia entry. His work is not only artistically sound, it’s clever and often thought provoking. You could do it too.
And one last thing, this person graffitied their own fence, brilliant! Shame they had to do it, but clever and effective, I have never seen any other marks on this fence in years and years since they did this.

Shouldn't Be Necessary, But Effective!
Regards,
Don.

Just a thought… The owner of the house in the top picture just might be an inconsiderate neighbour and his neighbour’s kids might be sending him a message…
