Injustice Shits Me!

I watched Sixty Minutes last night and they had an article on about Matthew Butcher, the young Perth Police officer who is now partially paralyzed due to the actions of Barry McLeod. This dickhead Barry, along with his family, including his dickhead father were pissed and started trouble in a Perth pub. When approached by the police they started getting stuck into the police. There’s no denying it, it’s all on video!

You can see Barry, his father and his dickhead brother, Scott McLoud, all bashing the police, including a police-woman. At one point the father is thumping punches into Matthew’s stomach and chest, he manages to get free and uses his taser on the father. It didn’t work apparently, as in it failed to function properly, but Barry being the tough boy he is runs and throws himself through the air and headbutts Matthew who simply falls unconscious cracking his head on the concrete.

Meanwhile the dickhead McLeod father starts having a heart attack, which is not surprising because he’s a fat bastard, and the police who have not been knocked out by the dickhead son, resuscitate the father!

Apparently the dickhead father’s name is Robert McLeod, it’s not hard to see from whom his admirable boys learned their behaviour.

As a result of this assault, Matt Butcher can barely walk and faces years of rehabilitation. Of course the Police charged several of the McLeods, especially Barry, and this is what really shits me, the jury found him not guilty. Dickheads. I don’t care what their lawyer said, you guys could clearly see what happened in the video, so shame on you for allowing this deadshit to go free of punishment.

I believe the Universe will sort out this injustice. Barry, his father Robert and brother Scott, are likely to face upset and disappointment of a high magnitude because of their behaviour and more so because of their failure to accept responsibility or demonstrate any remorse.

I admire Matt and his wife for their determination to overcome this set-back and prosper into the future, an attitude like that will ensure they will and I hope to see a story again in several years where Matt is jogging again and has full use of his arm. And I hope they ask him how he feels about the awful things that have happened to the McLeod family and can answer with a sly cheeky grin, “I think it’s awful for them, I’d never wish anything like that to happen to anyone”.
