That’s fantastic! We life on a shared block, two houses, one at the back and one at the front. The mains water taps are in our front yard. I turned off the water supply to what I thought was just our house. So I’m under the sink trying to fit the dishwasher hose and all of a sudden there’s water pissing out everywhere. The old codger out the back had decided to come into our front yard and turn the tap back on. What an arsehole. You’d think perhaps they’ve turned it off because they have a water emergency and you might knock on the door and check. The finger would have been very appropriate, I’ll keep that in mind for future events with him.

Fortunately, the dogs in our neighbourhood are a fair distance off. But my next door neighbour is a crotchity old fart. The last time he had a go at me because an arbourist I had hired, to lop some trees around the house, had left a little pile of sawdust on the street in front of his house……

Later in the day (after a couple of beers !!), I knocked on his front door and when he answered I said to him that the arborist had asked me to give him (the neighbour) a message. I then gave him the finger, turned around and walked away……

They kept a dog too. They have a dog but ran away from the house and can’t be found as they left the door wide open.These people are simply irresponsible and inconsiderate. Now got another new dog again whenever want to bring the dog out,the dog keeps screaming and barking..

Do what my husband does and yell “Shut that f**king dog up!” from the deck. It works – for the whole neighbourhood.

i have moved in here at jurong west street 51 blk 504 for almost 2 years.was quite peacefully for the first and half year.Since my neighbour moved in i feel insecure and don’t have peace.They having manjong activity almost everydays on weekdays fixed on tues and thurs till late night.I suspect they play with money which is illegal in house.Where i saw many different kinds of people coming up to their house mostly men and this people looked liked gangsters looking into my house whenever they walked pass.Not only that,the bicycles at our level were stolen too.After half year recently,their flat got splashed with black paint recently and wall wrote their unit nos and phone nos with red wordings. Think they trying to hide themselves they did not involve in loan shark they reported to police.The wife was the worst,rude and proud in the family who actually stared at me and the other neighbour when we learned to know about this matter.Someone used a ink pen to write other nos there.They can actually tell the friend my unit numbers borrow $ from loan shark!!They are far too much!I hope the truth will be out one day of what a people they are and get their retribution one day for what they have done!

Yeah, thanks Mike, I might just check with the council. Most of the time it would not have bothered me as much but I had to be up earlier than usual and off to an appointment, I’ll check my rights all the same. Cheers.

Might be worth checking with your local council about their noise bylaws. Even in my backward neck of the woods, you have grounds to complain to the council if the neighbours mutt barks for over 15 minutes during the silent hours. Thing is they actually follow up on the complaints too.
